Clubs

• Cactus and Succulent Society of America

  The national club of which we, the CSSSJ, are an affiliate.

  It holds a national gathering every two years: the next one was scheduled to take place in Colorado Springs during the summer of 2021, although that presently appears to be on hold.

• Monterey Bay Area Cactus and Succulent Society

  This group is based roughly an hour south/southeast of San Jose. It has several members common with the CSSSJ, and is extremely welcoming of visitors.

• San Francisco Succulent and Cactus Society

• Ruth Bancroft Gardens

  What began as a personal gardening project evolved over time into one of the most varied vistable displays of cacti and succulents in the Bay Area.

• The University of California Botanical Garden

  This garden has a strong focus on California native plants, and consequently houses some impressive displays of cacti and succulents. (The club has paid it field-trip vists in the past.)

  Informative website on cactus taxonomy and useful information.

• Cacti Guide Forum

  A forum about all things related to cactus. You can search the forum to find extensive information on just about anything to do with cactus. The forum still has regular activity, but note it can take months to hear a response for opening a new account to participate in the forum.

  Informative website on growing cactus with grafting stock compatibility charts, and other information.
